Called Microsoft hotline in attempt to activate my windows xp cos juz reformatted my laptop. Was already kinda irritated by the attempts to key in my codes as they used voice activation and because someone was coughing at my background, the message was repeated again and again.
Ok..nevermind, credits for the sensitive voice system that they have..But,dunno for wad reason my codes were not accepted (they were originals as i bought them along side with the laptop) and i was passed to a LIVE customer care person.
Below was the conversation :
She : 'Good Afternn,thank you for calling .....How may i help u ?'
Me : 'Oh, i need to activate my Windows XP OS.'
She : 'Can I have your name pls?'
Me : Thinking that she wanted my particulars for some verification purpose, i gave my full name.
She : 'Oh, Ms Goh,ok can i have your codes pls.'
Me : (Thots)Pengz...say earlier u just wanna know how to address me la....'ok..XXXXXX-XXXXXXX....'
She : 'So whats the reason to activate your OS again?'
Me : 'I reformatted my laptop.'
She : 'Ya,but what was the reason you need to activate ?'
Me : (Kinda fed up with the doubt,I am not doing anything illegal here now) 'Said,I reformatted my laptop so need to reactivate.'
She : 'Oh ok(with doubts),so its only for one PC use right?'
Me : 'Ya.'
She : 'Ok a min pls.'

Wah piang eh, not that i wanna grumble,but do you need to ask so many times why am i reactivating my OS?Not as if i liked to call u(and waste my fone bills)for entertaining myself. Wats more make myself sound like a criminal suspected of invading into some piracy problem.
And also, do u have to make me sound stupid by giving and spelling my full name to u by asking whats my name instead of how you shld address me ?
Anyway..this is my 2nd time callin that hotline and trust me, this is already a better scenerio. The previous personnel i had was even worse and sounded as if i owe her a million or more, at least this ger is polite, the previous one was snaggin at me as if she had a whole stomach full of bitter water. Sighz,wats wif the service line nowadays ?Are my request that hard to fulfil ?
